Safety will always be our absolute priority and our team will go the extra mile to look after the health and safety of everyone that travels with us.

Our Safety Management System covers all key aspects of organising a school trip. We are fully compliant with the requirements of the STF and we are assessed annually by an independent authority appointed by the STF.

We also undertake regular reviews of our health and safety procedures internally, monitor our suppliers’ standards and expect them to share the same safety ethos as us.

We are assured members of the School Travel Forum, a trade body dedicated to promoting best practice and safety in school travel. All full members of the STF adhere to a rigorous code of practice and safety management standards and are externally verified each year by independent Health and Safety consultants.

All our procedures are in line with the Department for Education (DfE) requirements and our Health and Safety policy covers all aspects of safety on your trip.

Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge

The School Travel Company was the first operator to achieve the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge Award. The Quality Badge scheme provides a national accreditation, combining the essential elements of provision “learning and safety” into one easily recognisable and trusted award.

One of the quality indicators of the Badge is that we have safety management processes in place to manage risks effectively. The Government’s ‘Health and Safety of Learners Outside the Classroom’ consultation paper makes it very clear that “for more complex offsite visits the Quality Badge scheme helps you use accredited providers – you needn’t risk assess what’s offered by holders of a Quality Badge”.
